FEATURES
Software Selectability
Select ring speed of 4 or 16 Mbps, bus mastering for burst transfers
or programmed I/O, plus cable type -- without having to flip
a switch or open the computer.
512K of RAM
512K of RAM is standard.
Short card
The adapter is a short card and will fit in an 8 or 16-bit ISA
slot.
Bus master DMA
Bus master DMA I/O provides high speed data transfer for enhanced
performance in busy server environments. Selectable burst transfer
mode DMA increases performance whether you have one card or four
cards in the server. Because the CPU is off- loaded, I/O bottlenecks
are minimized.
MAC/LLC code resides on
the adapter
MAC/LLC code resides on the adapter, not on the host disk or
floppy, which provides faster bootup time and download. The 802.2
Logical Link Control (LLC) /ASI feature provides access to ISO
and SNA protocols, typically required for IBM PC LAN, 3270 emulation,
and AS400 support.
Remote Program Load
RPL is a standard feature for Novell, IBM PC Net, IBM LANServer,
Microsoft LAN Manager and other operating systems that support
RPL. Remote Program Load allows users of diskless workstations
to boot directly from the server.

settings for ring speed, cable type, RPL selections and node
address changes, which ultimately means less down time and not
having to open computers each time you want to change hardware
settings. Built-in diagnostics in the FLASH ROM allows troubleshooting
on diskless workstations!

Drivers are Novell and Microsoft certified and are available
for most operating systems: IBM PC Network Program, IBM Warp,
IBM LAN Server, Novell NetWare 286, 386, ODI, Novell OS/2 Requester,
Microsoft LAN Manager, (NDIS), Windows for Workgroups, Windows
95, Windows NT (including DEC Alpha drivers) 3Com 3+Open, Banyan
VINES for workstations, SCO UNIX v/386 and ODT support, plus
other UNIX platforms, and support for APPC/PC, NETBIOS, 3270
and AS400 connectivity. Self-configuring drivers and diagnostics
are included on the diskettes and are easy to use and install.
