Convert your network to fiber at a CAT 5 price.

RACORE's OptiCORE 10FL Fiber Optic Network Interface Card combines
the new VF-45 fiber optic connection standard with RACORE's existing
engineering expertise to create industry-leading connectivity
solutions. The result is a high-performance fiber optic network
adapter that delivers optimum throughput and easy installation-at
an affordable price.
The OptiCORE 10FL adapter is a 10MB Ethernet card based on IEEE
802.3 standards. Designed to meet all applicable TIA, IEEE 10Base-FL,
PCI 2.1 and IEC fiber optic cabling specifications, the OptiCORE
adapter also has certified compliant drivers for the latest Microsoft
and Novell operating systems. It supports half duplex mode and
is optimized for low power consumption. It is compatible with
3M's new VolitionTM fiber optic cabling system as well as existing
ST and SC connectivity solutions.
Built-in flexibility, an excellent price/performance ratio, RACORE's
reputation for quality, free technical support and a lifetime
warranty all combine to make the OptiCORE family of products
the preferred choice for creating high-performance fiber-to-the-desktop
solutions for today's business.
3M's Volition and VF-45 Technology
Developed by 3M, Volition and VF-45 technology significantly
reduce the complexity of installation and cost normally associated
with existing ST and SC connections. Volition technology provides
a low cost, fiber optic solution for 10/100 Megabit Ethernet/Fast
Ethernet and Token Ring applications.
The new VF-45 fiber-interface offers an inexpensive, innovative
connection scheme that is being adopted by many industry leaders
that offer fiber optic and other networking solutions. The new
interconnect style is similar to existing UTP copper interconnects
because of its physical appearance and ease of installation.

Affordable, High-Performance Fiber-to-the-Desktop Solutions
Complex applications and general business growth continue to
place huge demands on most networks. Increased network capacity
is critical to business success. When looking for solutions that
will maximize network performance at an affordable price, Fiber
Optic technology is the only solution that can guarantee the
bandwidth to keep the information flowing.
Volition technology provides an aggressive price point for businesses
that are interested in high-speed network solutions. Studies
have shown that system-wide Volition and VF-45 installation will
cost half as much as the fiber optic solutions presently available.
And, the cost is only slightly more than copper.
While reduced long-term cost and wider bandwidth capability are
important reasons for converting to fiber optic technology, also
important is increased cable stability, reliability, durability
and data integrity. Light signals traveling through fiber are
not radiated or affected by electro-magnetic interference as
in copper cabling. This has some obvious benefits including higher
quality of transmission and elimination of cross-talk, EMI, RF
interference, and impedance mismatches. Additionally, fiber optic
cabling is the only medium powerful enough to deliver both high
bandwidth and extended cable distances in a centralized network
and, unlike copper, does not require periodic upgrades.
Proven Network Solutions from RACORE Technology
